Valentine's Day Easy Craft Idea

i know this is a little late but only just discovered this page. I work in a care home which includes dementia service users.

We have recently made a Valentine's tree. I simply got a branch out of the garden..secured it into a small old table(drilled a hole in the top)then covered in heart wrapping paper..residents painted the tree red and covered in glitter.

We then went on the internet and found pictures of various saints, one for each of our residents, 40 in total, printed off to wallet size and printed on what there patronage is..eg. Saint christopher-patron of travelers..laminated each one and stuck on the tree..then each saint was matched up secretly to each resident.

Visitors and families and staff then take a saint off the tree, return it with a bar of chocolate and then the gift is passed on to that secret "saint" on valentines day.

The tree was up less than a week and all the saints had gone..and returned..with some very nice boxes of chocolates..first time I had done this, thought up myself..nice treat for my residents on valentines day when we have our valentines ball!

EDITOR'S NOTE - Darren, this is a wonderful idea and very inventive! Thank you so much for this note and your super contribution...cheers!
