Useless Elder Sister Lives Overseas

by Margaret
(London, England, UK)

My sister lives 4000 miles away and all she does when she comes home is try and boss me and our parents about.

She is critical, is argumentative and then swans off abroad where she has lived for 30 years. I don't like her as she has a quick temper and is always trying to "out do" me when she comes home.

She feels that no one wants her to come home as she is always causing problems. Our parents always take my side in any disagreement. She complains apparently that our parents are always praising me when she phones up. She avoids eye contact with me and is sarcastic and contradicts things that I say.

Now that our parents are in their late 80's I could do with some moral support but she has announced that she is staying put. She is so selfish and incredibly jealous at the close loving relationship I have with our parents.

I left my job 2 years ago to be near them and I think this made her even more jealous. She doesn't want to help them herself and yet she is jealous of my increasingly close connection.

I seem to be in a no win situation.
