Assisted Living for Elderly Dad
by: Ilona

My dad insisted on his independence, but needed more oversight when it came to eating, laundry, and his social interaction.

We found an assisted-living facility not far from us that really eased all of our minds, my sister, brother and me.

I thought sure he would hate it, but he's adapting pretty good now and has made a number of new friends.

I would recommend assisted-living to any senior (and family) who is in that "in between" stage of life between total independence and supervision and/or oversight.

Assisted Living for Elderly Aunt
by: Kathy

My elderly aunt opted for an assisted-living community of very nice double-wide mobile homes that surrounded a little golf course.

The management provided a spa, swimming pool, and group activities nearly every night of the week that included movies, bingo, and dances. What a wonderful way to keep seniors active, involved, and social! It really helps me from a worry perspective knowing that help is close by and she has people she can socialize with.

Assisted Living for Elderly
by: Erlene

I always knew that assisted-living was somewhere between independent living and having to go to a nursing home or other structured facility.

I'm glad to know that they offer so many services while still encouraging independence. I'm looking into options for my mom, and this information is comforting.

It's nice to know that there are communities out there that are not at one extreme or the other.
