Elderly Housing - Services
by: Anonymous

Did you look into medicaid services for your mom? My mom had the same problems when she became ill in 2003.

I paid out of pocket for quite some time for home health aides and more. I went about getting her medicaid services by calling them directly and by passing what the lawyer was not doing to help me. I just needed him to get the ball rolling and then I got all of the documents and did the rest.

She gets food stamps and all of her medical services covered. She also gets legal aide services and medicare.

There are organizations here in NY that help people for free to get these services. We have a non emergency 311 service that assists people when they need to get medical and other services for a parent. You need to find out from your local councilman what services you can get and go from there.
