National Caregivers Day!

Is there one? There should be one. Someone call Hallmark. They wouldn't hesitate to jump on the bandwagon, imagine all the cards they would sell.

There are so many of us out here now and the ranks are growing. It would be interesting to know the statistics of when this age cohort will reach the peak of caregiving and the trend will start back down the other way.

Since there isn't any holiday declared for us as of yet, let's go ahead and have a temporary one today. For all of you who are reading this and for all of you who have yet to wander to this website out of pure desperation, congratulations on a job well-done. Because even if you are not doing it perfectly, you are doing it, and that is more than can be said for many.

EVERY DAY IS A HOPE FOR THE VERY BEST-
TO BELIEVE OUR PRAYERS ARE BEING HEARD,
TO BELIEVE GOOD NEWS IS ON ITS WAY
AND THAT ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN BETWEEN
YESTERDAY AND TOMORROW.

Why???
by: Anonymous

Not to be mean or disrespectful, but why have a "day" designated for caregivers?

Who is going to acknowledge it, send all those hallmark cards? If I (and many, many others, according these forums) cannot get help and cooperation from anyone now, why would they acknowledge us on a "special day"?

I, personally, don't want a "day" or anyone's appreciation. I just want my life back!

What a great idea. Has no one thought of this?
To all the caregivers out there: Thank YOU for all that you do!

All the personal care, all the financial care, all the emotional care, all the compassion and patience you show in the worst of times.
