Misunderstanding

by Ann
(Schectady NY)

My daughter is married to a woman whom I love very much. Recently they had triplets. I made a comment one day after changing his diaper, that he is really big down there! I of course was joking, they know me better than that.

I am not a crude person and have been completely helpful to them during this difficult time. My daughter ripped into me and said I made myself a victim, which I surely did not.

I apologized profusely and again stated it was just an inappropriate joke. I regret saying it. She hasn’t been texting me as much and maybe thinks I’m a pervert.

I feel bad and don’t know if I should let it go and wait for her to invite me down(they live in New York) or suggest it myself.

don't feel bad

It sounds like your daughter doesn't have a good sense of humor! Don't understand about what she means by saying you're the victim.

If you don't (or can't) TRY TO GET CLOSE WITH HER AGAIN, you will feel bad. And another thing...a man saying something like wouldn't even raise an eyebrow!
I think it is a guy thing!
