Inappropriate Sexual Advances

by Trish
(Rockford, IL)

My mother passed away a month ago. My father survives. My mother had significant health issues so we has 24 hour in home health care.

My father survives at 88. We have continued the are for him mainly because of his inability to clean, cook, remember mess, etc.

I just found out he is coming on to the caregivers physically and verbally. I am frustrated and angry by his behavior. He could not survive on his own. He will not live with a child. He refuses to move into assisted living.

Out of respect and the desire to help him preserve his independence I have plugged into services to allow him to continue the living arrangement he prefers--that of being at home. I cannot keep caregivers with this new issue.

I welcome thoughts, ideas, solutions.

Pervy Elderly Men is Not Cute or Acceptable
by: Anonymous

I have been a elder care giver for 25 years...and Pervy Elderly Men are Not Cute and its Not Acceptable!

I find it Discusting when its happened to me or when family members have said to me Flirt with him cause he likes cute young girls...PUKE!!

Get him ONLY MALE CAREGIVERS!

Its ABSOLUTELY GROSS to Force or expect your caregivers to put up with this crap.

If he doesn't want male caregivers then TOUGH and don't get him ANY and he'll succumb to his own disgusting behavior.

It will be better for the world...I have NO sympathy for PERVERTS at any age.
Sexual Harassment is REAL and UNACCEPTABLE!! Gave me NIGHTMARES EVERY TIME!! YUCK!

Being a perv can be part of dementia
by: Anonymous

My father was the same way. Making totally inappropriate comments to neighbor women. Happened after my mother passed.

He went through a phase of dementia progression where he thought at 94 he was God's gift to women. He would get really jealous and angry if he was not the center of any woman's attention.

See if you can get him on an anti-anxiety medication. All of this stopped and his attitude became much better on a healthy dose of Celexa.
