Games and Crafts for Mom

by Janene
(South Florida)

Games and crafts for my elderly Mom are many and often. I am so lucky to have a mother that still functions at a high level given her age (81). She has me go through all the old newspapers and cut out the various brain games and crosswords (it's a good thing I work for an office that still has papers delivered!)
She also is a big fan of puzzles that have pictures of various old city settings as she used to travel quite bit when younger. And cards! She is always after me to play cards with her as her friends are not as active as they once were and are dropping out of the "club".

This can be a problem, making time, although after a long day of work, to come home, make dinner and get the kids ready for bed and then go see mother for an hour. It helps her and it allows me the chance to sit and relax help with a puzzle or play hearts
