I am always looking out for new crafts that make my dad happy, without making him feel underwhelmed or bored by a certain task.

He’s in the early stages of dementia, so I try to keep it simple and revolving around things he loved to do growing up – watching movies, fishing and cheering on his favorite baseball team.

Free printable crafts make it possible to offer dad many options and I just adjust the tools or design to fit his needs.

Dad is always proud to show off his work and has a sense of accomplishment no matter how easy or difficult the craft might seem to him, so free printable crafts are very valuable for any caretaker – especially those on a limited budget:)

Even something as simple as printing out coloring pages to color on takes both dad and I back to our childhood – little did we know that coloring as adults was even more fun than doing it as children!

Doing a quick search on the Internet gave me plenty of ideas using free printable crafts, including simple origami and holiday décor, and together dad and I made pretty paper garlands to hang around the house for the holidays.

Crafting doesn’t have to take a lot of time and planning to do something fun, there are endless options and ideas on the Internet that any loved one will enjoy doing with you.

Printable Crafts and Coloring Pages Work Very Well
by: Rebecca

I am always looking online for new easy crafts, especially around the holidays. Even though a lot of the printable crafts are geared toward children, I have been successful in finding old comic book pages that my grandfather loves to color in – you can probably find just about anything in black and white printouts and color it.

Free Printable Coloring Pages

Great ideas – I often forget to keep it simple and to go look on the Internet for ideas. My mom loves to just sit with me and color, it’s very relaxing and still requires a bit of creativity.

Finding crafts that accommodate a loved one’s needs is always more challenging, but free printable crafts makes it possible.
