I'm searching this web site in hopes of finding information that may help me to reduce or install hand rails or support bars that may help prevent personal injury to my elderly parents. It has helped in the sense I will stop by the local home health care pharmacy in search of support rails for the bathroom toilet and shower plus possibly something for the bedroom walls that my father might benefit from, to help him to the bathroom.
My mother has had a TIA 8 months ago and also has difficulty moving about their home. My father however has fallen repeatedly 10-12 times in the past two weeks he has a combined medical problem in the brains gate control and sensory deficit in his legs and feet, that cause his legs to buckle or collapse unexpectedly. Any helpful options are welcome I can be reached at ditchell@stny.rr.com thank you Doug

Elderly Fall Prevention by: Anonymous
I am writing a paper on falls of the elderly for a class I am taking on line from the University of Wisconsin. I found your information very helpful. Also helpful because I had a silent stroke in 2002 and am building a "log retirement home" near Baraboo, Wisc. I will use the information as I fall frequently. I am using the information for myself in building my home (age 65)and for my 91 year old mother who lives in assisted living. Carna Manthey MT-BC
