My elderly parents activities center around field trips! They love them. Since neither Mom or Dad drive any longer it does fall on me to take them places, however we have an agreement that only a certain day of the week should be planned for these as they know I work and take care of my kids (both are teenagers). We have been known to go to the zoo, the museum, sometimes to free music concerts in the park,(when they happen) and many other "almost" physical activities...Mom has a walker and Dad drive an electric cart. The issue as always is time and the amount thereof that eats into the day so fast! I guess having made a commitment to be the caregiver to my elderly parents tends to make me less concerned although I have a life that they understand...I am very lucky in that regard.
