Elderly Activities - Sorting Recipes and Photos

by V.M.
(Texas)

My mom has always been a hard worker, and I've found that she is more willing to participate in activities that are more work-related than game-related. I have a collection of recipes in a binder in page protectors. It has become disorganized, so I asked her to help me sort them. I made signs with various categories, such as soups, main dishes, desserts, etc. She enjoyed putting the recipes in the right pile for me.

Another activity that my sister and I have tried is having her sort family photos. This not only helps her stay busy, but she also enjoys looking at the pictures and reminiscing.
