Elder Housing Options - 51 Year Old Son

by H.M
(N.Y.)

My mother is in need of a home. She is 69 and is still working. Mentally she is fine. She has squandered her money and is now broke.

I have the money to buy her a low cost home, but I find it very inconvenient that I should have to foot this bill because she didn't think of her housing when the money ran out. what is the best decision for me? I know I have to look-out for my mom but this stinks for me because this will now set me back on my own retirement. What is the best course for me to follow?
