Dad is 86 and Wants to Lease a New Truck

by Kathy
(New York)

My Dad is 86 and we are concerned about him still driving. He does not want to hear about it. He leased a truck in 2012 and used it for one year.

He went to my brother in another state and did not use the vehicle for two years while he paid the lease payments. He will return in two weeks and wants to get a new truck.

He has been diagnosed with some Alzheimer's. He has other medical problems. Dad hides all of his medications so that we will not be able to tell his complaint.

When he drives, he makes three lanes out of two and becomes outraged if the other drivers brings it to his attention.

This is very disturbing and frightening. Not only about him but others on the road and Mom as well.
