Christian Games

Christian games can provide a lot of fun for seniors gathered in groups, for families, or for special events. I found that a large variety of options are available and can include but is not limited to twists on Hangman, Bible trivia, character quizzes, word searches, and more.

Trivia games based on Bible passages or characters are popular, as is a take on the Hangman game, where you and your loved ones can test your knowledge of the Bible.

Word search puzzles as brain training games are also popular, using the names of notable figures in the Bible, parables, or those based on varying themes including Christmas, Easter, Advent, Pentecost, and more.

Character quizzes are also fun, as are mix-and-match games. For example, matching a notable Bible figure with a certain event or action. Games and activities can be solitary or designed for group activities.

A number of Christian online games can be used as brain teaser games and are interactive and promote focus, memory, and attention to detail.

For example, I found one the other day with a Christmas theme. It's a game about Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem. In this interactive game, you have to find clues and objects in order to complete a puzzle.

Christian-based board games are also fun, and can involve the entire family or a group of individuals. Some of the most popular include Bible trivia, Bible Charades, Bible Monopoly, and the Amen game.

I found that my parents like to play the Amen game, which is similar to Uno that utilizes cards with names like sin, temptation, trial, prayer, and blessing.

One of the best things about Christian games is that many of them are meant for families to play, meaning you can get everyone involved, and they're not too difficult for seniors who may be limited by cognitive or memory issues.

Christian Games help my Grandfather stay Active
by: Sheila

My elderly grandfather, a longtime organist at his local church, enjoys playing Bible trivia. It's a rare day when I give him a question that he can't answer.

I think it's great, keeps him mentally stimulated, and makes him feel as if he still has all his "smarts" as he calls it.

Christian Games - Bible Monopoly
by: Rita

My family takes our Bible Monopoly board game to visit my mom in the nursing home. It's fun and offers quite a few twists on the traditional Monopoly game. It's fun, meaningful, and often elicits interesting discussions!
