Caregiver of Elderly Mother with No Break

by Victoria
(Harlow Essex, UK)

I have been the sole carer for my 87 year old Mother for seven years without a break. I shop, wash, clean, sort pills, in fact do everything for her. I am exhausted and unwell myself now, I am also a single newly retired female. My mother is an alcoholic and also has social phobias and refuses to mix with anybody else..

I am so tired because she flies into a rage when I suggest that all this is too much, and says I don't do very much, she is not senile just very awkward.. I am truly at my wits end....
